The working principle of COLD MILL Motor is mainly based on the action of electromagnetic induction and electromagnetic force.
COLD MILL Motor is usually a three-phase asynchronous motor, and its working process is as follows:
1. Generation of stator magnetic field
Three-phase power supply access: When the three-phase AC power supply is connected to the stator winding of the motor, a rotating magnetic field will be generated in the stator winding due to the phase difference of the three-phase AC power of 120 degrees. The speed of this rotating magnetic field is called synchronous speed, and its size depends on the frequency of the power supply and the number of pole pairs of the motor.
Formation of rotating magnetic field: The magnetic fields generated by the three-phase current in the stator winding interact with each other to synthesize a rotating magnetic field. This magnetic field rotates in the stator core at a synchronous speed, and its direction is determined by the phase sequence of the three-phase current. If the phase sequence of the three-phase power supply is changed, the direction of the rotating magnetic field will also change.
2. Generation of rotor induced current
Magnetic field cuts the rotor conductor: The rotating magnetic field cuts the conductor on the motor rotor. According to the law of electromagnetic induction, an induced electromotive force will be generated in the rotor conductor. Since the rotor conductor is closed, an induced current will flow through.
Direction of induced current: The direction of induced current is determined by the right-hand rule. Its direction is related to the direction of the rotating magnetic field and the direction of rotation of the rotor. The induced current flows in the rotor conductor and generates a magnetic field, which is called the rotor magnetic field.
3. Generation of electromagnetic torque
Magnetic field interaction: The stator magnetic field and the rotor magnetic field interact to generate electromagnetic force. According to the left-hand rule, the direction of the electromagnetic force is related to the direction of the magnetic field and the direction of the current. This electromagnetic force will cause the rotor to generate torque, thereby causing the motor to rotate.
Torque and load balance: The electromagnetic torque of the motor overcomes the load torque and drives the load to rotate. When the electromagnetic torque is equal to the load torque, the motor runs stably at a constant speed. If the load torque changes, the speed of the motor will also change until the new electromagnetic torque and the load torque are balanced again.
During the cold rolling process, the COLD MILL Motor is connected to the rollers of the cold rolling mill through the transmission system, converting electrical energy into mechanical energy and driving the rollers to roll the plate. The speed and torque of the COLD MILL Motor can be adjusted by changing the frequency and voltage of the power supply or using a frequency converter to meet different cold rolling process requirements.
